Haiku

I write this with my favorite pen
Thru all the numbers and nonsense
Still, I wouldn't mind silence
Fetters I have forged open
Just a thought of you
Will awaken me these nights
But still I am rest
My footprints form a snowflake shape
Thru every carefully crafted phrase
And weeping, well, my scene of you will blur
It's not for us here, I can't find the words
Just a thought from you
Will awaken me tonight
And so I am blessed
I write this with my favorite again
Thru all repeats and ribbons
Still, I wouldn't mind silence
Fetters I have forged open
Just the thought of you
Will awaken within me
Olden kinds of peace
Olden kinds of sleep
This is my only dream

The Changing
02:27
|
|||
I'm changing every single day
I'm changing all the time
But strangely, I still feel the same
It makes me change my mind
Stroll Hyde Park's Speedway
Oh, this is it for me
In awe of the gardens' constant green
I'm changing...
At Rockwell Station
By some odd twist of fate
You'd never guess this was the escape
I'm changing...
The colors faded
And give me sense of time
But the end never lasts, I find

Ode to Gabriel
02:18
|
|||
Watching the rain, you wrote it down down
What were you saying about this go 'round
Bring yourself to be yourself
But falling waters fall much harder now
We'd commiserate in conversation
Run little plays out in the spring sun
That was only time and place
Not "time and space", it was just a day, young one
Just a day
Feels a bit wrong to say adios
Feels a bit wrong to say we weren't close
A broken heart, it pumps bad blood
It'll fill you up – there's still so much I won't know
I won't know, no

5 Ante Meridiem
04:27
|
|||
I'm trying to reach you, to whisper thru walls
I'm pining to see you, so I'll just sit and scrawl
Do I stay with you? Does it keep you awake
Do I just leave you? Would it help you sleep
It's 5 am
Who are you

Without the Words
03:41
|
|||
Lewis Carroll isn't well
He checked himself in, and then
Wonderland tolled its last bell
Now he writes it all, all again
Corners of the page, they burn first
There's no tears left to last, so I'll ask
Is his soul burning worse
Is it ember, is it ash
I wash my face down the drain
Without the words, it's not the same
I lie where Alice once had lain
And when I close my eyes I stay, again
And again, again, again
I see the dream go up in smoke
I see inferno start to win
Lewis turned to me, he spoke
Am I healed now it's all on the wind
The wind
I wash my face down the drain
Without the words, it's not the same
I lie where Alice once had lain
And when I close my eyes I stay, again
And again, again, again

To Your Health
03:52
|
|||
Dearest friend, you know by now
It's a long, long way to my hometown
O and I miss it so
And I hate to go
But why do I keep on saying yes
Keep on saying yes
When I should leave you to guess
And to drink to your health
Your health
Drink to death
Nearest friend to promise me
Is the one I'm following, I'm lost here
O and I told you no
God it hurts to grow
But why do I keep on saying yes
Keep on saying yes
When I should leave you to guess
And to drink to your health
Your health
Drink to death
But why do I keep on saying yes
Keep on saying yes
When I should leave you to guess
And to drink to your health
Your health
Drink to death
Make amends or make a mess
Tend to your own growing green moon gardens
Got to figure out
What it's all about

High Above
04:37
|
|||
The problem is possibility
What's it mean? Meaning everything
The dried ink stays the same
Nothing's rearranged, or an inch out of place
My powers of observation
Can't do nothing, nothing doing
The milk of humankind
Is it kindness? Is it kindness or blindness
And they'll say grow your soul
With love, love of the high above
But what if there's something more
And it's left off of our final cut
And they'll say grow your soul
With love, love of the high above
But what if there's something more
And it's left off of our final cut
The answer, no there's no answer
What's it mean? Meaning everything
I just think I'm not the same, now that times have changed
Parted earth and sharpened spades

Balanced in Midair
05:12
|
|||
East of Eden, the soil shouts with grass
A knife of sunshine will part all that's past
Be kind to the world
Be kin to the world
A skull on the spear, the poem gives a name
Good God up above, will part all this pain
And hold all the love
And hold back the love
That we share
That we bear
Balanced, in midair
Give mind to this world, give mind to yourself
You kicked thru the night, the crickets harped on
A knife of moonlight will part all that's gone
Be kind to the love
Be kin to the love
That we share
That we bear
Balanced, in midair
Give mind to this world, give mind to yourself
